NEW INSTALLATION

HBRAC, Hastings, New Zealand

The new Hawkes Bay Regional Aquatic Centre was designed to incorporate an Olympic-size training pool, Learning Pool, and spectator seating in one large enclosure. To manage the evaporation from the enormous surface area of the two pools, a mechanical ventilation system was designed to deliver 144.000 m3/h of heated air. To manage such a large volume of air and ensure even distribution throughout the pool enclosure, Hot Water Heat Pumps Ltd provided a tailor-made solution using our Prihoda Fabric Ducting. With a total length of almost 200 metres, a diameter of 2 metres, and an installation 6 metres above floor level, this is the largest fabric duct installed in New Zealand. The site also has a smaller Hydrotherapy Pool in a separate room. The ventilation in this room is provided by another, but much smaller Prihoda Fabric Duct that has been colour-matched to the blue ceiling.
