Tobacco factory STG, Westerlo, Belgium

We would like to commend the approach of Prihoda NV. They keep coming up with clever ideas for which they need atypical solutions or our patented innovative features and that is what we like and what we are good at. This is a project for a tobacco factory in Westerlo. We made a CFD simulation first, then designed, manufactured, delivered and installed 23 vertical half-round diffusers, each 2.5 m long, on concrete pillars. The goal was to blow the tobacco dust away from the floor into the extraction in order to have a cleaner environment for the operators. This is done through big adjustable nozzles placed on the bottom of the diffuser. We have also used closable nozzles to have the option of regulating the air flow and microperforation on the upper part of the diffusers to secure comfort velocities reaching the zone occupied by workers.
